Recreational Paradise

There are plenty of reasons why people fall in love with Utah. From the picturesque mountains to the breathtaking canyons, Utah’s scenery is unmatched. The Beehive State is also home to some of the best mountain biking, fishing, snowboarding and skiing in the world. It has eight world-class ski resorts just a short drive from the University of Utah campus in Salt Lake City as well as five national parks and more than 40 state parks for hiking, rock climbing, whitewater rafting and camping.

And Utah has more than just the best outdoor recreation. There is also a plethora of exciting events just minutes from campus. We’re home to professional sports teams such as Real Salt Lake, the Utah Jazz, as well as the University of Utah’s nationally ranked football, basketball and gymnastic teams. Nearby Park City also plays host to the world-renowned Sundance Film Festival, and FanX has become one of the country’s most successful pop-culture conventions. Or you can take in fixtures such as Ballet West, the Utah Symphony and our lively theater scene.
