The University of Utah’s College of Engineering would like to give a heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in making this year’s “U Giving Day” another rousing success!

The two-day fundraising event has garnered more than $116,000 from 340 donors as of Thursday morning and counting, nearly twice the dollar amount the college generated from last year’s “U Giving Day.” The college appreciates the generous gifts these donors contributed, all of which go to scholarships to help engineering students achieve their dreams.

The college would also like to thank retired aerospace engineer and pilot, Dorian De Maio, for his gift of $35,000 and to Dean Richard B. Brown and the following faculty members who set up matching challenges to encourage people to give:

Angela Rasmussen

Kody Powell

Andrew Merryweather

Mike Barber

Douglas Christensen

Kevin Whitty

Hanseup Kim

Eric Eddings

David Grainger

Masood Parvania

Bruce Gale

Bob Hitchcock

David Pershing

Rajesh Menon
