This year’s Hi-GEAR (Girls Engineering Abilities Realized) summer camp is in full swing on the University of Utah’s College of Engineering campus, giving female high school students the opportunity to learn about exciting engineering concepts.

The students are on the U campus from June 10 – 14 and are getting hands-on demonstrations in topics from computer coding to reverse engineering the brain, nanostructures and the optics of the human eye. Those attending will also be taking tours of Boeing, the college’s nuclear engineering facilities and sit in on a panel of professional engineers who will talk about their individual paths to successful careers.
