University of Utah School of Computing professor Suresh Venkatasubramanian was on the wildly popular radio program, “Science Friday,” Sept. 14 to talk about how software algorithms are being used in industries such as the justice system, healthcare and data mining.

Venkatasubramanian’s research has been focused on understanding how such algorithms, which can be used in job hiring as well as criminal sentencing, can be biased in much the same way humans are. To read more about his work, click here.
