Students receive graduate fellowships
Jun Ho, a PhD graduate student in Civil and Environmental Engineering, has been awarded the 2008 Dwight David Eisenhower Graduate Fellowship for his research involving testing materials used in highway asphalt to eliminate those susceptible to cracking when exposed to cold temperatures.The two-year grant will support Ho, who is also sponsored by the Utah Department of Transportation.
The purpose of the fellowship is to attract qualified students to the field of transportation and research and to advance transportation workforce development.
In addition, Civil and Environmental Engineering students Scott Swensen and David Beh have received graduate fellowships. Swensen was awarded a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship to study at University of California at Berkeley, and Beh was been awarded the American Concrete Institute Graduate Fellowship for study at the University of Utah.
