Congratulations to our Tau Beta Pi award winners
Arash Farhang, PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering
Tau Beta Pi (the Engineering Honor Society) has recently awarded its 2009-2010 fellowships and scholarships to engineering students across the country.
The Fellowship Program is Tau Beta Pi’s initial major project for the advancement of engineering education and the profession. Tau Beta Pi Fellows do graduate work in any field, which enables them to contribute to the engineering profession. A fellowship stipend of $10,000 was given to Arash Farhang, a student in the University of Utah’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
The Scholarship Program awards $2,000 “to members on the competitive bases of scholarship, campus leadership and service, and promise of contributions to the engineering profession.” Scholars from the University of Utah include the following students: Megan Crump, a junior in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Parker Hill, a junior in Bioengineering, and Kirk Nelson, a junior in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
