The College of Engineering at the University of Utah offers an exceptional opportunity for incoming freshman to become involved in research:
The Engineering Scholars Program provides the unique opportunity to:
- Tour research facilities during fall semester 2015
- Get 10 hours per week of instruction in an engineering research lab during the spring semester 2016
Mandatory weekly tours of research labs will occur each Thursday afternoon during fall semester to familiarize students with the research opportunities available to them. Please note the Engineering Scholars Program is a research opportunity for freshman and does not provide a scholarship during the first year.
Additionally, participation in this program qualifies a student to apply for the Merrill Engineering Scholars Fellowship during their sophomore year in engineering. This prestigious fellowship comes with a $3,000 stipend for the academic year. The fellowship may be accepted along with other scholarships you receive.
Application Deadline: February 1
