Richard B. BrownDean |
Dean Brown provides leadership to the College in strategic planning, administration, academic programs, faculty career development, and external relationships. He works closely with the department chairs and college staff on development, outreach and public relations. |
Ajay NahataAssociate Dean for Academic Affairs |
Ajay develops, administers, and promotes student programs and support functions within the College. He manages outreach and diversity staff to define and meet College goals for recruiting and retention. He coordinates the development, changes, and reviews of academic programs internally for the College and with external accreditors. Ajay oversees policies, planning, and implementation of the continuing development of majors, minors, and academic programs within the College. |
Eric G. EddingsAssociate Dean for Research |
Eric is responsible for administration of the research enterprise of the college, including e-proposals, F&A reduction and cost-share requests, etc. He is also responsible for departmental BEEF awards, the Honors program, College graduate fellowships, and co-chairs the University Seed Grant program. He works with the Dean on Retention, Promotion and Tenure (RPT) reviews, faculty mentoring and publicity efforts. Eric is also responsible for facilitating collaborative research efforts between faculty members from different departments and colleges across campus. |

Monica oversees College of Engineering activities related to retention, promotion, and tenure (RPT), scholarships, convocation, and payroll. |
Janna NelsonAdministrative Assistant |
Janna provides secretarial and administrative support for the Dean, including scheduling appointments and maintaining his calendar. |
Martha LauritzenOffice Assistant |
Martha is the receptionist for the Dean’s Office and provides general administrative and clerical support, attends to visitors, deals with inquiries on the phone and in person, and forwards information regarding building matters. She also handles the Dean’s Office mail and manages national surveys for the College of Engineering. |
Dan HixsonGraphic Designer |
Dan builds layouts, graphics, and communication pieces that effectively communicate the College’s goals to a variety of audiences. He supports the creation of these pieces with creative work in photography, design, and publishing. |
Aditi Risbud, Ph.D.Senior Communications and Marketing Officer |
Aditi generates written content for print and electronic media designed to increase awareness and enhance the reputation of College of Engineering research, activities, and achievements. She supports a comprehensive public relations effort that reaches all internal and external media. |
Nathan WestonWebmaster |
Nathan builds websites for the College and its constituent departments, research groups, and student organizations. He manages digital communications including content, websites, emails, social media, streaming video, and SMS. He also builds custom PHP/MySQL applications to support web functionality and productivity. |
Marilyn K. DaviesDirector, External Relations and Development |
Marilyn provides oversight of the College Development program including activities related to fundraising, legislative, corporate and alumni relations. Her responsibilities include management of the external boards, capital and principal gift fund raising, and oversight of development operations for the college. Marilyn also consults for the University’s central development office on fundraising projects across campus. |
Josh GrantDirector – Major Gifts |
Josh manages and cultivates relationships with many of our major donors and has the opportunity to travel, meet, and interact with many of our engineering alumni and friends. He works closely with the Engineering Alumni Association board to provide meaningful opportunities for our engineering alumni to be engaged and involved with our current engineering students. |
Jolie ColemanAssistant Director – External Relations |
Jolie Coleman is the industry/corporate liaison for the College of Engineering. She engages both local and national companies to facilitate interaction with students and faculty, and uncover research opportunities. She also builds relationships with engineering alumni. |
Sarah BagdoianDevelopment Specialist |
Sarah manages all operational support for development activities in the College, including: coordinating logistics for external relations events, managing the production of donor reports and other college mailings, maintaining the database for tens of thousands of alumni and donors, managing donor stewardship, and processing monthly reports on behalf of the college. |
Michael KayAssistant Dean, Budget and Facilities |
Michael assists the deans, chairs and staff administrators, faculty and other groups both in and outside the college with matters involving college financial resources, budgeting and reporting. He facilitates and represents the college interests and assists the chairs in allocations of space, development of facilities (lab renovations and major building projects), as well as insuring that building issues are addressed appropriately. He also fills the role of College Safety Officer and works with the College Safety Committee to ensure our people, buildings and labs are safe. |
Bobbie HarrisLead Senior Accountant |
Bobbie assists faculty and staff of the college and departments with matters involving financial, budgeting, and payroll through research and error resolution. She represents the college with University BPAC committee. She reviews and reports changes to the University’s financial policies and procedures. Bobbie also assists faculty with proposal submissions and post-award issues. |
Amy VanRoosendaalProject Administrator |
Amy manages all administrative and financial matters for the Utah Nanofab and Micron Microscopy core facilities and affiliated labs. She organizes the nanoUtah Conference and Exhibition. She also assists faculty with pre and post proposal requirements. |
Rachel HendersonAccounting Clerk |
Rachel provides accounting support to the College. |
Kristin MaddenSenior Accountant |
Kristin assists faculty and staff of the college and departments with financial and budgeting activities. She prepares activity and special reports across the college and for USTAR. She assists faculty with proposal submissions. She also spends a portion of her time supporting accounting functions in the Chemical Engineering department. |

Rod manages facilities support staff and oversees special projects in facilities across the College. |

Jeff BatesAcademic Coordinator |
Jeff coordinates on-campus tours and field trips for K-12 schools as well as the teacher reference library. In addition, Jeff coordinates programs for engineering students, including the Engineering Scholars Program and the Engineering Ambassador Program. He also travels to local schools with the outreach program. |
Stephen JorgensenAcademic Coordinator |
Stephen coordinates K-12 off-campus outreach events. He travels to local schools to recruit Utah’s best and brightest students to the College and to raise awareness about engineering education throughout the community. Stephen also coordinates academic programs for current students including the Tutoring Center and Study Abroad Program. |
Dianne LeonardAcademic Adviser |
Dianne advises new and transfer students in the College. She also coordinates with advisers at the department level to provide consistent, accurate, and timely advising to all students in the College. |
Deidre SchoenfeldOutreach and Diversity Coordinator |
Deidre supports diversity and outreach activities in the College by managing student organizations, recruiting efforts, and retention programs that support STEM education for under-represented student populations. |

Her responsibilities include instructional development, teaching assistant training, programmatic and basic research, and assessment. |
