Dean’s Office Directory
Richard B. Brown
Dean Brown provides leadership to the College in strategic planning, administration, academic programs, faculty career development, and external relationships. He works closely with the department chairs and college staff on development, outreach and public relations.
Ajay develops, administers, and promotes student programs and support functions within the College. He manages outreach and diversity staff to define and meet College goals for recruiting and retention. He coordinates the development, changes, and reviews of academic programs internally for the College and with external accreditors. Ajay oversees policies, planning, and implementation of the continuing development of majors, minors, and academic programs within the College.
Eric G. Eddings
Eric is responsible for administration of the research enterprise of the college, including e-proposals, F&A reduction and cost-share requests, etc. He is also responsible for departmental BEEF awards, the Honors program, College graduate fellowships, and co-chairs the University Seed Grant program. He works with the Dean on Retention, Promotion and Tenure (RPT) reviews, faculty mentoring and publicity efforts. Eric is also responsible for facilitating collaborative research efforts between faculty members from different departments and colleges across campus.
Monica oversees College of Engineering activities related to retention, promotion, and tenure (RPT), scholarships, convocation, and payroll.
Janna provides administrative support to the Dean including scheduling appointments and managing the national surveys for the College of Engineering.
Tina is the receptionist for the Dean’s Office providing general administrative and clerical support.
This position designs and codes custom web-deployed software to keep the College and its constituent departments organized and efficient. He oversees digital communications including: website design and creation, digital content, email campaigns, social media, and streaming video. Finally, he teaches users within departments and other units to use deployed software packages and to maintain their own web presence.
Dan builds layouts, graphics, and communication pieces that effectively communicate the College’s goals to a variety of audiences. He supports the creation of these pieces with creative work in photography, design, and publishing.
Public Relations Associate
Vincent researches, writes and edits content for print and electronic outlets for the College of Engineering. He supports a comprehensive public relations effort designed to enhance the reputation of College of Engineering students, research, and activities. He also creates and edits videos in support of the College’s academic mission.
Web Content Specialist
Kim creates and maintains websites for College of Engineering departments, faculty, and research groups. She also manages social media and email campaigns to support the College’s academic mission.
Marilyn K. Davies
Director, External Relations and Development
Marilyn provides oversight of the College Development program including activities related to fundraising, legislative, corporate and alumni relations. Her responsibilities include management of the external boards, capital and principal gift fund raising, and oversight of development operations for the college. Marilyn also consults for the University’s central development office on fundraising projects across campus.
Director – Major Gifts
Josh manages and cultivates relationships with many of our major donors and has the opportunity to travel, meet, and interact with many of our engineering alumni and friends. He works closely with the Engineering Alumni Association board to provide meaningful opportunities for our engineering alumni to be engaged and involved with our current engineering students.
Assistant Director – External Relations
Jolie Coleman is the industry/corporate liaison for the College of Engineering. She engages both local and national companies to facilitate interaction with students and faculty, and uncover research opportunities. She also builds relationships with engineering alumni.
Assistant Dean, Budget and Facilities
Michael assists the deans, chairs and staff administrators, faculty and other groups both in and outside the college with matters involving college financial resources, budgeting and reporting. He facilitates and represents the college interests and assists the chairs in allocations of space, development of facilities (lab renovations and major building projects), as well as insuring that building issues are addressed appropriately. He also fills the role of College Safety Officer and works with the College Safety Committee to ensure our people, buildings and labs are safe.
Lead Senior Accountant
Bobbie assists faculty and staff of the college and departments with matters involving financial, budgeting, and payroll through research and error resolution. She represents the college with University BPAC committee. She reviews and reports changes to the University’s financial policies and procedures. Bobbie also assists faculty with proposal submissions and post-award issues.
Amy manages all administrative and financial matters for the Utah Nanofab and Micron Microscopy core facilities and affiliated labs. She organizes the nanoUtah Conference and Exhibition. She also assists faculty with pre and post proposal requirements.
Rachel provides accounting support to the College.
Kristin assists faculty and staff of the college and departments with financial and budgeting activities. She prepares activity and special reports across the college and for USTAR. She assists faculty with proposal submissions. She also spends a portion of her time supporting accounting functions in the Chemical Engineering department.
Tiffany provides accounting support for the Dean’s Office. She assists faculty and staff of the college and departments with financial and budgeting matters through research and error resolution.
Rod manages facilities support staff and oversees special projects in facilities across the College.
Peter works on special projects in facilities.

Outreach Program Coordinator, Utah Science Olympiad Program Coordinator
Amy assists in supporting the outreach efforts of the student affairs team. She runs the Utah Science Olympiad, which is a huge STEM competition held on campus every Spring. She is also in charge of coordinating other K-12 outreach activities such as the After-school Program for junior and high school students, as well as the annual Elementary Engineering Week.
Morgan coordinates K-12 off-campus outreach events. He travels to local schools to recruit Utah’s best and brightest students to the College and to raise awareness about engineering education throughout the community. Morgan also coordinates academic programs for current students including the Tutoring Center and Study Abroad Program.
Academic Adviser, Academic Program Manager
Dianne advises new and transfer students in the College. She also coordinates with advisers at the department level to provide consistent, accurate, and timely advising to all students in the College.

Diversity and Retention Coordinator
Amanda supports diversity and outreach activities in the College of Engineering by advising student clubs, including Student Leadership Council, Society of Women Engineers, Engineers without Borders, Tau Beta Pi, and Society for Hispanic Student Engineers, among others. Amanda coordinates the Merrill Engineering Scholars Fellowship Program, Hi-Gear summer camp for high school girls, programs in housing, and industry tours for current students. She also works on recruiting efforts and retention programs that support STEM education for under-represented student populations through MESA programming.
Academic Program Coordinator, Direct Admission & Grad Coordinator
Megan helps manage the College’s direct admission process. She also assists with college-level graduate recruiting and events.
Assistant Professor (Lecturer)
Jeff manages student data for the College of Engineering. He generates reports on enrollment statistics, coordinates communication with prospective graduate students, and assesses programs in Academic Affairs in the Dean’s Office. He teaches the freshman course, “Survey of Engineering,” which helps students explore majors within the College of Engineering.
April advises undergraduate pre-engineering & undecided students within the College. She helps students navigate the college, explore their interests, and assists students with finding the best ways to achieve their goals.
Director, Computer and Networking Services
Steven manages computer labs, IT staff, and facilities while overseeing operations and strategic planning for the college’s IT infrastructure.
Information Technology Manager
Mark supports various projects and ongoing support for information technology infrastructure.
Stewart is a network administrator and Apple technology specialist.

John manages the Engman Lab and administrates NT systems.
