About the Department
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is a broad discipline combining the study of the fields of electricity, electronics, electromagnetism, and materials with computer science. Computer engineering includes the design, implementation, and programming of computers and computer-controlled electronic systems. The department is widely known for its strength in microwave theory and computational electromagnetics, as well as in communications.
The department is leading the way in next generation micro and nano materials, devices and systems, communication, and signal processing. The department serves its national and international industrial partners through services ranging from research and development to technology transfer.
