Major: Civil Engineering Hometown:Taylorsville, Utah Why I'm an Engineering AmbassadorI am an Ambassador because I love what I am learning as a Civil Engineering student, and I want to share with others the many great opportunities available to you as an engineer. What I'm working onMost soil test are done by obtaining a sample in the field and running test in the lab on the sample. As an intern for a Geotechnical firm I was given the assignment to come up with a way to test the air permeability of the soil in the field. I built a devise to measure the soil permeability and used it on the house lot in Saratoga Springs that blew up in February 2007. Why I like the U's College of EngineeringThe U's College of Engineering is great because there is always someone that can help you. There are people that can help you decide what classes to take, homework help, even people to help you find scholarships. What I plan to doAfter I graduate I plan on opening my own engineering firm. The dress code for the firm will be jeans and a polo shirt. I will work really hard until age 50. At age 50, I hope to have enough employees that will just run the firm for me. I'll come in on Monday mornings, make sure everyone still showed up for work, work for a couple of hours, and then go and play (travel, bike, camp, ski). Do you have any hobbies outside of studying, working and attending school? In the winter time I love to snow ski. In the summer I like to play softball, camp and mountain bike. |
