Departments
The College of Engineering consists of a college level administration and seven academic units including the departments of Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and the School of Computing (see organizational chart). Degrees are offered at the Baccalaureate, Masters and PhD levels.
Last year, the College awarded 607 degrees, the largest graduating class in college history. From 1999 to 2007, the total number of engineering and computer science degrees increased by 65%, almost triple the national average. Equally impressive is the increase in research expenditures and scholarly output by our faculty which exceeded 43 million in 2007, our highest level of productivity to date.
